Big Enough Dreams describes the lives of twenty-nine developmentally disabled adults. Published
by the Learning Community Press in 2006 and edited by Debbie Marshall, the essays in this
anthology have been produced by some of Alberta's finest authors, including poets Lorie Miseck and
Shirley Serviss, non-fiction writers Myrna Kostash and Debbie Marshall, editors Dan Rubinstein and
Heather Boyd, playwright Mark Haroun, novelists Gloria Sawai and Caterina Edwards, and journalists
Linda Goyette and Todd Babiak. Together they have crafted compelling stories of individuals who live
with a wide range of intellectual challenges and who lead interesting and often complex lives. All of
those profiled in these pages have relationships, families, jobs, and responsibilities. They are artists,
labourers, waitresses, writers, jocks, actors, and musicians. They are passionate, competitive,
uptight, talkative, petty, beautiful, obsessive, silent, troubled, open-minded, mean-spirited, ambitious,
hard-working, caring and funny. In other words, they are real people with real hopes, and as the title
of this anthology suggests, they have big dreams and are working hard to fulfill them. To order
